How to lock your iPhone’s applications
- Press and hold an application.

Not every app on your iPhone can be locked. Some programs, such Camera, Find My, and Settings, cannot be locked. Most apps, though, including those from third parties, the App Store, and Messages, can be restricted.
How to hide the programs on your iPhone
When you hide the apps on your iPhone, they get locked. It functions similarly to the locking of apps. Keep in mind that this feature isn’t available in every program. My observations indicate that iOS 18 only lets you hide third-party apps like Twitter and Instagram.
To make these iPhone apps invisible, follow these steps.
- Press and hold an application.
Second, choose “Need Face ID.”
- Click on “Require Face ID” and then “Hide.”
Your iPhone will ask whether you are sure you want to hide the app after asking your passcode or Face ID. On your phone, you’ll see a new option that says, “Hiding an app will move it to a Hidden folder in your App Library and remove its name and icon from your home screen.” The menu will also indicate that you won’t receive any alerts from the app.
The Hidden folder seems to include apps whether you hide nine of them or none at all.
If you select Hide App from the option at the bottom, your iPhone will hide the app. To see your hidden apps, swipe right until you’re in your App Library. There is a folder called Hidden with an eye-shaped line over it if you scroll to the bottom of the website. After tapping this folder, enter your Face ID or passcode. The folder will then display your hidden programs.
How to remove and reveal locks
Long-press an app, select Don’t Require Face ID, and then enter your passcode or Face ID to unlock it or remove a lock. Your locked apps will now be opened, and your hidden apps will be removed from the Hidden folder.
